What's the catch? How can all this information be free? What are you trying to sell?

There is no catch, there are no tricks and we are not trying to sell anything to business owners. Our sponsors enable us to provide our website and bi-weekly email newsletter series, How to Sell a Business, at no charge to business owners.

No, we do not charge for access to the website. However, to have full access to the website, you must be an active subscriber. If you unsubscribe from the email newsletter, most of the website pages are truncated. If you are a subscriber and the website articles are truncated, you need to log in with your email address. The log in box is located at the top right of the page.

The bi-weekly delivery of the email newsletter is an excellent reminder to occasionally work on rather than in your business. However, we recognize that some owners may need to accelerate their knowledge of how to sell a business because they intend to do so fairly soon. Obviously, those owners would not want to wait for needed information to arrive on a bi-weekly basis.

It is never to early to start. Our newsletter series, How to Sell a Business, identifies and explores 66 potential obstacles to a successful business sale. The particular obstacles that you might face must be identified, then addressed or minimized. It can take several years to resolve many of the most common obstacles. Many professionals advise beginning the planning process 3-5 years in advance of your desired exit date. But, it is never to early to start and the earlier you begin the planning phase, the better off you’ll be. Overcoming obstacles, in many instances, also leads to increased profitability. Couldn’t you use more money in your pockets on an ongoing basis? Consider reading this article: Issue #44 – It’s Never too Early to Start Planning Your Business Exit.
